Monroe Express: On Wednesday of last week Mrs. Dees, wife of Mr. Chris topher Dees, who lives in Buford town ship, met with an accident which re sulted in her death on Sunday . night ollowing.! It seems that after dinner he hands started to the field towork, tnd when they had got some distance rom the bouse one of the horses broke loose and ran .back at full speed to ward the house; Mrs. Dees ran out in to the road to. try to stop 'it, but the horse paid no attention to ! her, and ran full against her, knocking her about twelve feet, her head striking a stump, producing concussion of the brain. Sun day night, abou II o'clock, death end ed her sufferings. Mrs. Dees was about 50 years of age. News and Observer: At ths Atlantic Hotel, Morehead, Tuesday! evening. Miss Mamie, daughter of Dr G W Blacknall, was united in marriage to Mr George H Clowes, of Waterbury, Connecticut. -The ceremony was per ioral ed in tne notel parlor. At its conclu sion Mr and Mrs Clowes held a recep tion, and at midnight an elegant supper, was served.
